About us.
JM Horse Rescue A FLORIDA STATE NON-PROFIT
Our goal is to provide care, rehabilitation
and relocation through adoption of unwanted,
neglected, abandoned or abused horses.

It all started with the rescue of one horse. To see one of these great animals starving is unspeakable. So we are trying to be their voice, their helper and through our Horse rescue and others like us we will continue to save one horse at a time, by bringing them in, getting them healthy and trained again, then finding them responsible loving homes. We try to save as many equines as we can from a slow and many times a painful death.
Our future goals are to offer clinics or classes for the care and training of these majestic animals. Our hope is to educate enough people that in time fewer horses will need to be rescued. We also try and educate owners on proper equine care and we will be offering classes on Basic Horse Care and Handling. We are also going to start a Veterans Day once a month at our Farm where our HEROS can come and spend the day and enjoy the animals.
Because we are a small rescue we are only able to take in a small amount of horses at one time. If you are in need of our help give us a call if we cannot help you we will try and help send you in the right direction. We promise to rescue neglected, abused and homeless horses and provide them a loving home and also rehabilitation, retraining and then adoption for some to approved homes.
JM Horse Rescue does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or any other basis of discrimination prohibited by law.
Fundraiser's to help fund JM Horse Rescue: Car Washes, Bake Sales, Yard Sales, Raffles, Pony Rides, We have had a Winter Festival which included Santa Claus, Food Sales, a bake sale Petting Zoo and Pony Rides, Horsemanship clinics and basic Horse Care and Health classes.
All rescues need your help with donations and volunteering your time so please help support your local rescue. We are not a rescue that is just about our horses that we bring in, we help anyone we can. We help other Horse Rescues with our time and donations when we are able, we do not have the biggest facility nor are we the best rescue out there but we are learning more every day and want to get involved more with this cause and this community. This type of abuse doesn't just happen on T.V. it also happens in YOUR community and you should get involved.

HAY Angels
Any donations of Hay that you can give these babies is very appreciated ! If you cannot pick one up at a feed store yourself you can always call Gregs Feed Store at (386) 738-5009 · 247 S Amelia Ave, Deland, FL 32724 and place a order and they will let us know and we can pick it up. Even 1 square bale from you makes a big difference. We appreciate your support!
Those of us living on small hobby farms, or where pasture isn’t available for portion of the year will need to supplement our horse’s with free range hay. Hay fits this bill because its fibrous content and nutrition resembles the horse’s natural diet of grass. Missing is the moisture, which is why it is so important to always provide fresh drinking water.
The equine digestive system is very long, the stomach very small, and the digestive process relatively slow. To avoid constipation, which can be very painful, and other gastric problems, horses need large amounts of fiber. This is the reason why, although grain mixtures might provide adequate nutrition, they will not provide enough bulk. Slowly and constantly eating a high fiber feed helps keep the gut healthy and the digestive system functioning.
